Ocean's 8 Project - Lou Style Capture

I thought that I would never write another blog post. I figured that, that passion was over but they found a way to wheel me back in. I haven't written a blog post in so long. I felt that I wasn't up to the challenge of opening that box again. But you can't hold yourself back from your talents no matter how long they have been left behind.

Oceans 8

Just like in Oceans 8 I was recruited to show representation of a full figured menswear wearing bad ass. Me and a few of my blogger and influencer friends combined in a collaboration of a lifetime. Taking on the roles of these dynamic characters I felt confident as I went through out the day as The Right Hand Lou.
Pinterest.com

In Oceans 8 Lou finds out that her head chica in charge Debbie Ocean is back from the slammer after 5 long years and her services of being a total bad ass is needed.

And as The Right Hand Lou and the infamous Debbie Ocean (Jonquel) go on a fabulous trip recruiting the best of the best to pull off the heist of the century.

Disclaimer:  This sponsored project  was not conducted in association with the Ocean’s 8 film.

Lou's style is the embodiment of the attitude that is Lou.

Menswear is classic, clean and powerful. These sequined tuxedo pants are jammed packed with stealing the show.

Lou's classic but edgy style could'nt get any better until it did with the accessories. The black tie put the entire look together with layers of gold chains, rings a statement bracelet and a gold watch.

All pieces (on the right) were C/O Torrid

The chains, sunglasses and rings to your right are all C/O Torrid
All of the other jewelry to your left are personal pieces of mine.

Jacket C/O Astra Signature

I added the bralette for my own personal touch and the super posh jacket was sponsored by Astra Signature.

The cut and the design of the jacket is everything. The fit is perfect and it's so versatile. You could dress up with a pair of statement pants and a blouse or it dress down with a tee and a pair of denim. I love how the gold buttons add more glam against the lush black velvet.

A jacket worth having all year round.

I loved being apart of this collaboration. I had so much fun and everyone was so in sync and spot on in their cosplay.

I loved every moment as Lou. I was confident and felt like I could take on any challenge that came my way.

The fact that we did it together made it all the more rewarding.

A New Beginning

Alot has changed since the last time I actually posted a blog post. I just didn't know what was going on with me. I guess some deep rooted feelings came to play when not wanted too. My mother pasted away 2 years ago and I have had emotions about it. But i've been trying to cope and channeI my talents in a different way. So I decided to really persue modeling. I never thought that I would put myself in the limelight by becoming a model. That I would muster all of my confidence to show of my looks despite any negativity. I was told that I would never model because I was too fat, that I wasn't pretty enough. I believed that, I believed that I didn't deserve the opportunity. And since I didn't believe, it showed through everything. Even if my heart was in the right place that didn't matter. The constant struggle with myself, wanting to be better but not believing that I could be. Until I decided that I was going to prove everyone wrong. But I had to stop thinking about what other people thought of me and decide not to hold myself back to look at myself and not feel worthless to be empowered and in control with the goals that I set and accomplish them. Knowing that I'm happy is what matters. I want to be blogging way more often and hopefully inspire other people who felt like me and show them that the journey to inner happiness is endless and is worth wild so try to enjoy it despite what life throws at you.

Fashion 15

A lot has changed since "Holidays Past" I've been concurring my fears and standing up to my insecurities. Changed employment and gave myself the real chance to change my life. While I'm not working at Lane Bryant I'm traveling putting myself out there and taking as much pictures as possible. I've started a portfolio and have decided to become a model. Something I never thought that I could ever become. Entering myself in my first modeling competition and actually trying out new adventures. Picking up blessings and opportunities along the way building experiences and unforgettable bonds. Building myself up and opening my ora no matter how big or blunt it could be. understanding that I was put on this earth for me to do something with it so ill continue till we get somewhere.

Now that we've gotten all sentimental and what not lets get to it.....

At Lane Bryant we have what I call a celebration of new merchandise. It's called "Fashion 15" the time to shine and assemble new styles that we could show off to new clients. It's a chance for me to shine and show off my styling skills. Dressing up is a passion for me. I've always loved putting outfits together I have a style where now I dress how I feel. Trying to stay under 3 costume changes before I leave the door. And making sure that when I leave the house I feel like me like a whole me.

Anyways I get the opportunity to make about 5 to 6 different outfits. Getting the chance to be able to assemble some really cute outfits. Making bold statements and slaying through the process by making not the rug or the couch my model but make myself the model to my Fashion 15. I. Love. Every. Minute of Fashion 15 it's like the best time of the month for me. And then I get to understand the product more and become even more of an expert. So it a complete win, win both for me personally and for me professionally.

This is the first of many try on sessions. I was excited that my first session would be with a Christian Siriano dress made in my size. I fell in love instantly. It's a lil heavy but only because its a gown. I love the fit and how it drapes to the one side. It's so dramatic *swoon*

I decided to play around with black suede print. I just wanted to wear black but not in any old way so I combined different prints in black suede so no matter the print it will always match because of the material and how it's pulled together. The pants were a gift the peplum top is from forever 21 plus and the under lace top is from Calvin Klein. my shoes are from Christian Siriano.  I was totally Breakfast at Tiffany's.

This jumpsuit is from Fashion to Figure and the top is from I believe K&G superstore the shoes are from Christian Siriano I wanted a new look to my buns so I wrapped a gold chain around it. The jumpsuit is very comfortable and sexy with that mesh.

This outfit is brought to you by Melissa Mccarthy. Her line of clothes are full of pretty prints and flattering flowing cuts. This skirt is from her line which reminds me of the great gatsby. It's a little heavy when you first pick it up but when you have it on you don't feel a thing. The tule underneath gave it a magical effect made for a princess. I paired it with a white lane Bryant button up and black leather jacket.

So for the upcoming season the big print is poka Dots no matter the size. I personally love the print idea. This poka dot top is more like a tunic it's a little sheer, feels light, and is extremely flattering. I paired the top with lane Bryant's signature black ankle pants which fit like a dream and there black leather jacket already mentioned.

This sexy number is brought to you by Cacique the lingerie line from lane Bryant. This corset is from there Seriously Sexy line which is surprisingly Seriously Sexy. I absolutely love the nude against my skin tone and it's not uncomfortable either. It stretches so I could have went a size down buy the sizes are based on your bra size so it's a acquired fit. I paired it with the lane Bryant ankle pant and there new black classic blazer. This look is sexy and powerful.

Still going with the poka dot theme. This very sheer top stretchs beyond belief. I love the tie in the front adds a polished professional look to the top. It doesn't have any buttons or zippers so you just pull it on and go. I paired the top with lane Bryant's trouser fit slacks. Which I know there a little too short for me but lane Bryant sells tall sizes on line and not so much in store.

This is the same top from the last post but in black and ooooo la la. Totally sexy off the bat it's the same fit so I won't get into the extended details. The skirt is the star of the show. So many dots in different shades and sizes of gray and white. The tule in this skirt changes my mood dramatically. Making feel like a poka dot princess.

Holidays Past

Hey guys,

So I know that I've been away but now I'm back wit the jump off. Things have been hectic dealing with work and family and the holidays had me stressed. But I bring to you my first post of 2016 "Holidays Past" I'm talking about reliving the holidays with me through clothes, makeup and creativity.

Lets Start with...... Halloween!
This costume was one for the record books. The amount of sweat, tears, blood and lack of sleep that was used to make this Lyda Deetz poncho and Cape combo was out of this world.
This entire thing was made 90% by hand. I've been challenged but this was something totally different. I wanted to be the belle of the Tim Burton rave by dressing up as one of my favorite Beetle juice animated moments. If your to young then your gonna have to Google. Anyways in this episode Lyda is taken to the underworld to meet prince Naveen she's all dressed up and to comical relief she even has the bride of Frankenstein hair. The poncho gown cape combo just stuck with me and it just had to get done. So I sewed my life way with the help of my friend Melissa and her mom I got it done. Not to mention endless nights gluing rhinestones on everything. I've never been so proud of myself and this upcoming comic con is gonna be unforgettable.

But not to forget a costume change for the Deetz costume no matter how beautiful  it is but was heavy and I was totally petrified of it getting damaged throughout a night of drinking. So I decided to be princess jasmine... well my take on it for the time I was given. The jacket is from forever 21 and the top from k&g superstore, the scarf was a thrift shop find, my jeans are also from forever 21 and my Disney sneaks are from vans. The crown came from the Disney Store for 50% off. I was hyped. The hair took forever to get just right but I was so happy with the outcome not to mention how comfy I was.

A honorable mention to Velma for she was a cute quick costume.

Now to Thanksgiving for I was thankful for a lot this year family, true friends a loving boyfriend and a true spark of enthusiasm for the holidays to basically really give a fuck and actually wrap my presents in a grown up matter.
I was also thankful of this outfit and amazing hair day.
The coat is from forever 21 2015 winter collection.

The black classic leotard is from forever 21.

The leather skirt is from forever 21 2005 collection and was finally worn for the first time.

After all the food drinks and togetherness it was the days of all days my birthday! 29 and feeling fine.

Can't do that up do ever again idk why...

And I got to get into my dream car the unforgettable, classic, amazing, blast from the past the Delorean.

I changed my clothes and hair the next day for my birthday night out.

In between the next holiday there was some clothing greatness happening.

This coat was a amazing thrift shop find. The fact that it's tailored to my body shape and has this bold red color not to mention the outline is in this simple ruffle all around just warms my heart. I've never found anything that makes me feel so giddy like this coat. The sweatshirt is a dress it has pockets and it's thick as hell, it came from H&M's Ron Bass collection. The running sneakers are Nike. And the hat from a boutique on the upper West side on Broadway.

Is that what I think that it is?
Yes! It's the start of the Christmas season.

The windows are decorated with glamour and jewels.

In between this start of the holiday season. I discovered faux spectrum rings

And there's a few outfits along the way thanks to my boyfriend.

This cute sweater is from Target 2014 winter collection..... it's my boyfriends. The jeans are from forever 21.
The coat is from forever 21. The button up is from my boyfriend. My jeans are from forever 21 the classic denim collection.  The sneaks are Adidas.

Is Star Wars a holiday? Because hot damn it's everywhere the Force Awakens was amazing. No spoilers here.
I was General Organa when I went to the premiere of The Force Awakens.

                        Well back to Christmas lol
This outfit brought to you by Macy's a Peanuts Christmas.

Christmas eve!
The beginning to the greatest day of the year. This outfit was so fancy. I haven't wore real flats in a while these Christian Siriano flats from pallets are everything. The high waisted jeans are from forever 21. The sheer sexy leotard is from wet seal plus collection. And the fur vest even though a thrift shop find is actually from the Kardashion Dash QVC plus size collection.

And now New Years Eve!

Funny moment with my other Lil sister.

This look was different than what I'm used to. I've never worn anything so bold and shiny before. But new year new looks.

And now......

To the new year and all of its opportunities and blessings it may bring. Hoping that everyone has an amazing start to a new year and here's to new posts, material, inspiration, style and grace.

Amen,

Shay :^*
